Me-OW! Opossum George

The frames are simply for the practice of framing. It isn't intended to be a storyboard :)

Oh Boy.

Drawings from high school.

Marshmallows

Something that seems so simple to make is actually very hard to master. Hope to get there someday :)

Draw Me

I suppose I will wait until the start of the year to begin my painting challenge. In the mean time, I've been taking a great figure drawing class at CCA with Mel Adamson. It has been great trying to draw again. Have only been to three classes so far and am enjoying some of the results and challenges. Still a lot of room for improvement, but here are a few of the better ones.

Sketch

So, maybe I haven't quite started the painting challenge... I have most definitely been doing some sketches though!

Painting 1

Donated a piece for auction to benefit Petaluma's D5 program. Their fundraiser took place at the beautiful Soda Rock Winery in Healdsburg. Sadly, I do not have any quality, close-up pictures of that painting at the moment. On the bright side, the highest bid went to the parents of a very good friend. Looking forward to capturing the smaller details of this painting in a photo the next time I visit them!

Set

Getting my artistic engines started. First pleasing sketches in ages. It's been too long since I've drawn or painted anything and I believe this to be great momentum for my painting a week challenge.

Take Your Marks

I started this blog with intention to attempt a "Painting Challenge."  The goal is to complete one painting every week, for an entire year. It is almost mid August, but I plan to commence this challenge around the beginning of the new year (roughly).

I recently realized I spend far too much time doing other things and have not forced myself into any artistic struggles since I graduated high school. I assume there will be some horrible results, some awesome results and more importantly, some growth. Then I thought, why not start a blog to show for it? So until the painting challenge, enjoy a look at some of my sketches and random projects.
