3 Characters, 3 Excerpts

Three characters, inspired by three excerpts, from popular/classic novels.
Very glad I didn't recognize the descriptions as I attempted to design my characters. I did a few quick rough sketches, but ultimately wanted to do a wood burning. After designing the characters,  our designs were to be altered to replicate one specific artist's style; as we were given the options of only a few artists. I debated be between M. Sasek and Ed Emberley. I finally decided I would do one of each, but alas, ran out of time. It's still never too late to create on my own, outside of class.  After I completed the wood burning (pic of final piece will be posted later), I still didn't feel it accurately depicted his wood-block style. My next best attempt was to carve a rubber stamp. I think the results were much closer than the wood burning. Both processes were enjoyable. The rest of the sketches, final wood burning, and third character will be posted later.
